Kalangaman Island is one of my dream destination here in
the Philippines . Even though we didn’t have plenty of time to spend in the island,we have decided to to drop by before heading to Tacloban right after our Sambawan Adventure.

Kalangaman is one of the most beautiful island and a must visit tourist destination here in the Philippines. The island is not always crowded, I could say that it is a perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature – a perfect bonding destination with your friends and family. They have some available equipments for Kayaking, Aqua Biking and Scuba Diving. Based  on my research, Kalangaman has a wall diving site with abundance of soft and hard corals as well as a big variety of fish. Whale Shark and Thresher Shark encounters have been made here.

How to get there ;

From Naval, Ride a van going to Ormoc. Fare is Php120,travel time is approximately 1-2 hours, there is no direct trip to Palompon from Naval. From Ormoc, Ride a Van to Palompon.Fare is PhP110,travel time is   1 hour.

From Tacloban City , ride a van going to Palompon. Fare is Php150, Travel time is approximately 2-3 hours . Alight at the van terminal,and ask locals for directions goin  to Eco-Tourism Office (the yellow structure located beside the municipal hall and in front of the Liberty Park. You need to register at thier office prior to your tour of Kalanggaman. The Eco Tours Office is walking distance from the van terminal and the public market .Pump boats going to Kalanggaman are docked just behind the Palompon Ecotours Office.

Getting to Kalangaman Island was a  bit challenging  for us -The usual travel time is 45m-1hr.But  it took us more than 3hrs,due to heavy rains and numerous large  waves, all of our things got wet and our boat got damage.
